A big change today, but hopefully one you won't notice. JustSolitaire.com is now a secure site, using SSL (AKA https) for all pages, images and content.

I hope no one notices because nothing should look different. All you may see is a little padlock icon, and maybe the word "Secure" at the top next to the page address in your browser. But I say "hope" because when sites switch from http to https sometimes things break. But so far, everything looks good to me. However, I am using the latest browsers and operating systems to test. Maybe some people are using older systems.

Why the switch? Why does a site where all you do is play solitaire need to be secure? Well, it doesn't. There's no reason to make JustSolitaire.com secure since it doesn't ask for, store, or transmit any personal data. But the world's largest search engine, and maker of the most popular browser, Google, has said that all sites need to run https soon, or they will start putting nasty warnings on sites that don't. So if I didn't make the site https, then later this year you may see a warning message about security when you try to go here. And then some people may misinterpret that message, freak out, and leave the site.

So I don't want that to happen. So JustSolitaire.com is now secure.
